Description:The spicy coco beef (or Rendang) is a traditional festive dish in Indonesia and Malaysia, especially for weddings. What makes Malaysian Cuisine so well appreciated by Western palates? Certainly its tangy and aromatic recipes, less spicy than Indian or Thai food, resulting from the combination of Indonesia, Portuguese, Chinese, Thai, Indian and British influences.

Curry kit for beef contains the basic ingredients to prepare recipes with Rendang sauce:
Coconut Milk (200ml) - Malaysia accounts for only 1% of the world production, but its coconut quality is prized by connoisseurs.
Rendang Paste (185g) - Mixed with Ayam Coconut Milk, it is a base for an authentic and tasty Rendang sauce.
The secret of Malaysian Cuisine lies in the quality of coconut milk and the freshness of the spices.

Spicy Beef Coco (Serves 4-6)

600g - 800g of meat in small pieces (beef or chicken)
3 potatoes
1 sliced onion
Fresh coriander leaves

Cooking Instructions:
1. In a pan, heat some oil and fry the sliced onion, then add the meat and pan-fry for 5 minutes
2. Pour the glass jar of curry rendang paste, stir-fry it over high heat for 5 minutes
3. Reduce the heat, add coconut, add potatoes sliced, cover and simmer until the meat is tender (with tenderloin, simmer for half an hour or with beef cheek, simmer for 2 hours)
The rendang sauce is generally very thick and sticks well to the meat. If you prefer a smoother curry, you can add water or stock to the sauce while simmering.
For authentic taste and thicker sauce, add 200ml. For mild taste, add 300ml. For non-spicy taste, add more coconut milk or water.

Please store in a cool dark place and use all contents immediately after opening.

Rendang Paste: Water, Soya Bean Oil, Garlic, Toasted Desiccated Coconut, Shallots, Sugar, Chilli, Galangal, Lemongrass, Salt, Thickening Agent (Modified Tapioca Starch (E1422), Curry Powder (Coriander Seed, Dried Chilli, Cumin Seed, Aniseed, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves, Star Anise, White Pepper (2.3%)), Ginger, Turmeric, Kaffir Lime Leaves.
