Gong Hei Fat Choi! Happy Chinese New Year! May the year of the Tiger bring you and your family happiness and prosperity! Come down and celebrate the arrival of the Chinese Year of the Tiger from 10am on Sunday, 21st February, when there will be traditional firecrackers and lion dance performances. The event is free and everyone is welcome to come down and join in the festivities.
The firecrackers will be lit at 10am to scare away the evil spirits for the new year. This will be followed by the kung fu skills of our lion dance troupe, who will be bringing luck and prosperity in the form of a traditional Chinese Lion dance.
2010 is the Year of the Tiger, which is the third sign in the Chinese zodiac. Those born in the Year of the Tiger are said to be brave and courageous, but can be prone to being short tempered and selfish.
