Christmas Charity Concerts: A Success!
On the two weekends leading up to Christmas, shoppers were treated to festive music created by students of local music teacher, Selina Tan. The students decided to bring their musical talents together to raise money for charity by organising a series of Christmas concerts. All funds are being donated to the Under Privileged Children’s Charity (UPPC), a local charity that has provided support and financial assistance to children in need.
Selina Tan said: “The charity was chosen because of its work towards improving the lives of local children. My students are really excited about being able to do something to help other children who were less fortunate than themselves.”
We’d like to thank everyone who came down and supported the charity Christmas concerts. The concerts were a resounding success, with the children’s hard work resulting in a spectacular sum of £782.23 being raised for the UPCC. We would also like to thank Gary Ma and the team at Water Sky Bristol for providing hot food for the students.
Allison Chow, Wai Yee Hong, said: “We are delighted that these talented young people have achieved so much over these two weekends, and would be honoured to make up the difference to £1,000.”
Finally, we’d like to thank Selina Tan and the many talented students for braving the cold and devoting their time and energy into this event. We congratulate them on their fantastic achievement.
