Casamia, Saturday Kitchen – Sep 2014
Apparently a lot of our customers and friends watch BBC show, Saturday Kitchen! Thanks to all of you who took the time to send us tweets letting us know that the chefs behind the Michelin starred Casamia restaurant in Bristol gave Wai Yee Hong a little mention on the show. We were surprised and excited to have had such a lovely endorsement from these highly-regarded chefs!
Thank you also to R. Windsor, whose email made our day:
“Hello,
I wrote about 10 days ago thanking you for your excellent packaging (Alnwick). I am watching James Martin, and his guest chefs (2 brothers who just won the Good Food Guide award) mentioned your store and showed /mentioned the dried white bait and other items they can find only in your store!”
We have made a short edit of the Sanchez-Inglesias brothers cooking their dish of oil-poached turbot served with mustard greens in a creamy cider sauce. In their recipe segment on Saturday Kitchen, the brothers mention that they use dried fish bones in their cooking, and that they bought their dried anchovies from Wai Yee Hong:
Casamia, in the suburb of Westbury-on-Trym, was awarded 1 Michelin star in 2009 after brothers Jonray and Peter Sanchez-Inglesias took over the family trattoria and changed the focus towards modern tasting menus based around seasonal British produce.
