Crispy Chinese Five-Spice Chicken

This recipe uses the evocative flavour of Chinese five spice to great effect, creating tasty, crispy chicken pieces that everyone will love.

Preparation:
  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in the light soy sauce, rice wine, salt, sugar, five-spice powder and corn flour for at least 30 minutes. Massage the marinade into the meat for really tasty chicken.
  2. Heat oil ready for frying, beat the egg slightly and dip the chicken into the egg and coat evenly with cornflour before putting into the oil.
  3. Deep-fry the chicken until golden brown. Remove from pan and drain.
Notes: This recipe works just as well with other cuts of meat, for example chicken wings.
