Description:Heera Premium Quality Chinese Cinnamon Sticks (Cassia Bark)
Suitable For Vegetarians

This delightfully exotic, sweet yet spicy flavoured spice comes from the outer brown bark of cinnamomum cassia tree, which when dried, rolls into a tubular form known as 'quill'. Due to its flavour, cinnamon is diversely used in cooking and features in both sweet and savoury cuisines around the world.

Recipe: Braised Cinnamon Anise Sweet Potatoes
1 tsp vegetable oil, 3/4 cup green onion (sliced), 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp chilli paste, 6 garlic cloves (thinly sliced), sliced peeled fresh ginger (crushed), 2 cinnamon sticks (3"), 1 star anise (crushed), 4 cups water, 13 cups low sodium soy sauce, 1 tbsp white vinegar, 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 2 (12" pieces), 2 tbsp onion (minced)
Heat oil in a large pan over medium/high heat. Add 3/4 cup onion, sugar, chilli paste, garlic cloves, crushed ginger, cinnamon sticks and star anise to the oil and stir-fry for 15 seconds. Add water, soy sauce and vinegar, and bring to a boil. Add potatoes, reduce the heat and simmer for 25 minutes (or until tender). Turn off the heat and leave to cool slightly before removing potatoes from the liquid with a slotted spoon. Sprinkle with 2 tbsp of onion and serve.

Storage Instruction: Once opened we recommend transfer of product to an airtight container.
