TRS Basmati Rice has been grown, using traditional methods. in the finest rice growing regions of the Himalayas. In these foothills it enjoys the unique characteristics of soil and climate that produce its fragrant aroma and delicate taste.

Cooking Instructions:
Before cooking place rice in a sieve and rinse under cold running water. One cup of rice will serve 2 portions.

Covered Pan Method:
1. For each cup of uncooked rice add two cups of water. Put rice in a large saucepan, add a tablespoon of edible vegetable oil.
2. Bring to the boil over high heat. Stir several times then cover with tight fitting lid. Lower heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
3. Test rice and if not tender, or liquid not completely absorbed, replace lid and allow to cook for a few minutes longer.
4. Remove from heat and serve.

Microwave Method:
For each cup of uncooked rice add two cups of water.
2. Place rice and water in a large non-metallic bowl.
3. Cover, leaving a small vent and microwave on High setting for 6 minutes.
4. Stir and cook on defrost setting for a further 5-6 minutes.
5. Allow to stand for 3 minutes until all liquid has been absorbed and serve.

All cooking appliances vary in performance, these are guidelines only. If microwave cooking, select appropriate time for your oven, according to manufacturers instructions. These guidelines are based on a 650 watt oven. For different power rated ovens adjust the heating time accordingly. Always check that the product is piping hot before serving.

To retain freshness and flavour, store in an airtight container, in a cool dry place.
